Prescriptions, refills and transfers
We fill prescriptions from your family doctor, a walk in doctor, a specialist, a dentist or a nurse practitioner, in person at our counter.
- New prescriptions
- Bring your prescription to the counter. We check it with you and explain how to take your medicine.
- Refills
- Ask at the counter, or call (905) 237 8533. Pick up your refill in person.
- Transfers
- Using another pharmacy now? Tell us in person or by phone, and we contact them to transfer your prescriptions.
- From the clinic in our building
- If one of our doctors writes you a prescription, you can fill it here before you leave.
- Insurance billed at the counter
- We send the claim to your drug plan, so you pay only the part your plan does not cover.
- Ontario Drug Benefit and OHIP+
- Bring your Ontario health card, and we bill your public coverage at the counter.
- Private drug plans
- Bring your drug plan card the first time you fill a prescription with us, and whenever your plan changes.
- Dispensing fee
- Ask us about our dispensing fee before we fill your prescription.
- Compounding
- Some compounding is available. Ask us what we can prepare.
Care from your pharmacist
Our pharmacists can assess and prescribe for 28 common conditions under Ontario's minor ailments program, and the assessment is free with your OHIP card.
- Minor ailments
- Since July 1, 2026, Ontario pharmacists can prescribe for 28 minor ailments, up from 19. Examples include pink eye, cold sores, uncomplicated urinary tract infections, allergies, acid reflux, insect bites, dandruff, head lice, ringworm and warts.
- What happens
- The pharmacist asks about your symptoms and decides whether a prescription is right for you, or whether you should see a doctor instead.
- What it costs
- The assessment is free with your OHIP card. You pay for any medicine prescribed, unless your drug plan covers it.
- MedsCheck
- A free review of all your medicines with a pharmacist, about 20 to 30 minutes, once a year. You qualify with an Ontario health card if you take three or more prescription medicines for a chronic condition, or if you live with diabetes.
- Diabetes support
- Help with your blood sugar meter and diabetes supplies, and regular visits with a pharmacist, including a MedsCheck for diabetes.
- Medicine and sharps disposal
- Bring expired or unused medicines to our counter for safe disposal. Used needles and lancets must be in a sharps container.
Flu shots and other vaccines
Publicly funded vaccines, including the flu shot, are free here for eligible people with an OHIP card.
- Flu shots
- For eligible people aged 2 and older, each fall once the season's vaccine arrives. Walk in during opening hours.
- More vaccines at the pharmacy
- Since July 2026, Ontario pharmacists can also give vaccines for RSV, pneumococcal disease, shingles, and tetanus, diphtheria and whooping cough. Some are free for people who qualify. Ask which vaccines we have and whether you qualify.
- Travel health
- Advice and vaccines before you travel. Talk to us well before your trip. Most travel vaccines are not covered by OHIP, so a fee applies.
Free weekly blister packs
We sort your medicines into sealed weekly blister packs, at no charge, so each dose is ready by day and time.
Blister packs help when an older parent takes several medicines, or when you look after medicines for someone you care for. A pharmacist prepares each pack, and you pick it up at our counter.

Can a pharmacist prescribe for me without seeing a doctor?
Yes, for 28 minor ailments. Since July 1, 2026, Ontario pharmacists can assess and prescribe for conditions such as pink eye, cold sores and uncomplicated urinary tract infections. Do you bill my insurance directly?
Yes. Village Pharmacy & Medical Clinic sends claims to your drug plan at the counter, so you pay only the part your plan does not cover. Bring your drug plan card and your Ontario health card. Coverage from the Ontario Drug Benefit program and OHIP+ is billed at the counter too.
Who can get a free MedsCheck?
In Ontario, a MedsCheck is a free, private review of your medicines with a pharmacist, about 20 to 30 minutes long, once a year. You qualify if you have an Ontario health card and take three or more prescription medicines for a chronic condition, or if you live with diabetes.
Can I drop off old medicines and used needles?

آیا داروساز میتواند بدون ویزیت پزشک برایم دارو تجویز کند؟
بله، برای ۲۸ بیماری جزئی. از ۱ ژوئیهی ۲۰۲۶، داروسازان انتاریو میتوانند برای بیماریهایی مثل ورم ملتحمه، تبخال و عفونت سادهی ادراری ارزیابی کنند و دارو بنویسند. در داروخانه و کلینیک پزشکی ویلج این ارزیابی با کارت سلامت (OHIP) رایگان است؛ هزینهی دارو را، اگر بیمه نداشته باشید، خودتان میپردازید.
آیا برای واکسن آنفولانزا باید وقت بگیرم؟
خیر. هر پاییز، پس از رسیدن واکسن فصل، میتوانید در ساعات کاری و بدون وقت قبلی برای زدن واکسن آنفولانزا به داروخانه و کلینیک پزشکی ویلج تشریف بیاورید. این واکسن برای افراد واجد شرایط ۲ سال و بالاتر که کارت سلامت انتاریو دارند، رایگان است. کارت خود را همراه بیاورید.
آیا نسخههایم را از داروخانهی دیگری منتقل میکنید؟
بله. حضوری یا با شمارهی (905) 237 8533 به ما بگویید نسخههایتان الان در کدام داروخانه است. داروخانه و کلینیک پزشکی ویلج با آن داروخانه تماس میگیرد و انتقال را انجام میدهد. وقتی داروی شما آماده شد، آن را حضوری از پیشخوان ما در خیابان یانگ تحویل میگیرید.
آیا مستقیماً با بیمهی داروییام حساب میکنید؟
بله. در داروخانه و کلینیک پزشکی ویلج هزینه را پشت پیشخوان مستقیماً با بیمهی دارویی شما تسویه میکنیم و شما فقط سهم خودتان را میپردازید. کارت بیمه و کارت سلامت انتاریو را همراه بیاورید. پوشش برنامهی دارویی انتاریو (ODB) و OHIP+ هم همینجا محاسبه میشود.
بستهبندی هفتگی داروها (بلیستر) هزینه دارد؟
خیر. در داروخانه و کلینیک پزشکی ویلج داروهای شما را بهصورت رایگان در بستههای هفتگی پلمبشده و بر اساس روز و ساعت مصرف مرتب میکنیم. این بستهها برای سالمندانی که چند دارو مصرف میکنند، مرتب کردن داروها را سادهتر میکند. بستهها را حضوری از پیشخوان تحویل بگیرید.
